After a pair of shutout losses to open the season, Westfield State bounced back in a big way, posting a 3-1 win over Castleton State in women's soccer on Wednesday evening at Applejack Field in Manchester, Vt.
The Owls jumped on the board first, with Jenn Rennich scoring just 1:12 into the contest on the rebound of a Bella Eduardo shot. Westfield improved their advantage in the 22nd minute as Lydia Kinsman rifled in a turnaround shot for a 2-0 lead.
Up 2-1 late in the game, Westfield's Bella Eduardo capped the scoring off a feed from Marissa Jacob. Lauryn Davis made four saves in goal for the Owls.
Westfield improves to 1-2 on the season with the win. The Owls will be back in action on Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. match at teh University of New England in Biddeford, Maine.
