WESTFIELD, Mass.  – Westfield State women's lacrosse ran its league record to a perfect 4-0 with a 14-2 win over MCLA on Thursday evening at Shrewcraft Field in North Adams, Mass.

The Owls win sets up a conference showdown on Saturday evening, when Westfield hosts conference co-leader Framingham State at 7:00 p.m. at Alumni Field, a game that is also the Owls' senior night.   Westfield State and Framingham have met in the conference tournament final in each of the last three seasons.  A win on Saturday likely will determine which team would be the top seed in the league tournament and host throughout the postseason.

Today, MCLA got on the board first when Julia Graham tallied just 57 seconds into the contest, but from there the rout was on, with Westfield netting the next 11 goals in the contest.  Westfield spread the scoring around with six different players netting goals in the first period as the Owls grabbed a 6-1 lead after 1.

The Owls had 11 goal scorers in the game, led Emma Prattson and Kiely Hafensteiner, who each scored two goals. Prattson handed out three assists in the game as well.

Westfield's Kara Banagan and Sydney Smith split the game in goal, each making one save and allowing one goal.

MCLA's Lori Lester made three saves in goal.

Westfield improves to 9-6 overall and 4-0 in the MASCAC, while MCLA is now 1-8 and 0-4 in the league.
