WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State University will have a busy athletics complex this week, as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the fields and seeds for the spring sport championship tournaments late on Saturday night.

Westfield State will be the number 1 seed in the baseball tournament, and will host the tournament's double elimination round games beginning on Friday, May 4, and continuing Saturday and Sunday until a champion is determined.

Owls women's lacrosse will be the top seed in that tournament, assuring the Owls of home field advantage throughout the tournament. The Owls will begin their defense of the conference title on Thursday, May 3 by hosting a semifinal round game at 7:00 p.m. at Alumni Field.

Westfield State softball landed the number three seed in their tournament. Westfield will open play in the tournament by hosting an elimination game against #6 Fitchburg State on Wednesday, May 2 at 3:30 p.m. That will be a single game, with the winner advancing to the double-elimination portion of the tournament, with the remaining Owls softball games on the road.
