Women's Lacrosse Outguns Maritime, 17-4

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. -- Westfield State women's lacrosse rolled to a 17-4 win over an outgunned Mass Maritime team on Friday night, as the Owls improved to 11-1 overall on the season and 3-0 in the conference.

The Buccaneers, who played a player short for the duration of the game, fall to 5-6 overall and 0-3 in the MASCAC.

Hunter Zackaricz and Maddie Bartkus each scored three goals to lead the Owls offensive attack, with Hayley Rodriguez adding a pair of goals.

Westfield State junior goalie Maria Woodall made five saves while allowing just three goals in the first half. Emma Duffy played the second half in goal and allowed just one goal while making two saves.

The Owls ran out to a 7-1 lead to start the game. Westfield led 12-3 at the half, then added the first five goals of the second half to secure the win.

Westfield will be back in action on Saturday night at Alumni Field, hosting MIT in non-conference game.
