WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State's Kerry Greenough rolled in a pair of long putts on 17 and 18 to shoot the low round of the day, leading the Owls women's golf team to a 454-501 win over Gordon College in a dual match at Tekoa Country Club on Sunday afternoon.
Greenough rolled in a 15-foot downhill putt for bogey on the 410-yard, par-4 17th hole, with the putt hanging on the lip of the cup for a long second before eventually falling in. She did herself one better on the 177-yard, par-3 18th, sliding in a 20-foot uphill putt for bogey, to finish with a 99.
Katie Egan was next for Westfield with 108.
Dorothy Duval and Nina Hatch completed the Owls scoring four. Julia Elbe was the fifth player for the Owls, playing in the final match of her 4-year career with the Owls.
Katherine Maloney shot the low round for the Fighting Scots, with a 113. Gordon was playing it's first-ever intercollegiate women's golf match. Caroline Johnson, Mariah Wells, Anna Heintz, Olvia Miller and Vanessa Johnston rounded out the lineup for Gordon on the par-71, 5.917 yard layout.
