WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State junior forward Jordan Grant (Gray, Maine) received conference recognition this past week as she was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week after the Owls secured two key conference victories this past week.

Grant averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds on an efficient 56 percent shooting from the field (14-25) across the two games. She posted a double-double of 18 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks in a 67-56 victory over top-seeded Bridgewater State this past Saturday. It was Grant's second double-double of the season after pouring in 34 points and 12 rebounds earlier in the season in a win against SUNY Cobleskill.

Grant also collected a team-high 19 points and five steals, while adding four rebounds in a 20-point comeback win over Worcester State on Wednesday. She played a pivotal role in the Owls' rally as 12 of her 19 points came in the second half of the contest.

On the season, Grant is top five in the MASCAC in scoring, averaging 16.1 points per game. She leads Westfield in rebounds per game (6.6) and is second in the conference in offensive rebounds per game (4.8). Grant's efficiency from the floor has been consistent all season long as her 49.4 percent field goal mark ranks fourth in the MASCAC.

Westfield State (15-9, 8-3 MASCAC) owns a six-game winning streak and currently stands in second place in the conference standings. The Owls will close out the regular season on the road against Fitchburg State in the MASCAC finale on Saturday with tipoff scheduled for 2:00 P.M.
