Hadla, Owls Blitz Fitchburg, 100-56

WESTFIELD, Mass. –  Westfield State women's basketball topped the 100-point barrier for the fourth time this semester, as the Owls topped Fitchburg State, 100-56 in MASCAC game at the Parkinson Gymnasium in Fitchburg on Wednesday night
 
The Owls level their record at 9-9 overall and are 4-2 in conference play.  Fitchburg slips to 2-13 and 1-3 in the MASCAC.
 
Westfield used a balanced scoring attack, led by 17 points from Olivia Hadla (Westfield, Mass.), who connected on five of 10 shots from three-point range.
 
Isabella Aitken (Pittsfield, Mass.) added 16 points, making four of seven three-point tries, Jordan Grant (Gray, ME/Gray-New Gloucester) contributed 13 points and eight rebounds, and Lindsey Bohenko (Lowell, Mass./Central Catholic) netted a career-best 11 points for the Owls.
 
Westfield played without leading scorer Melissa Gray (Peabody, Mass.), and post player Paris Wilkey (Lynn, Mass.). The duo typically combines for nearly 30 points per game.
 
Westfield led 25-10 after one quarter and 53-27 at the half.
 
The Owls forced the Falcons into 46 turnovers and Westfield record 25 steals in the game, led by five from Lauren Legere (Bedford, Mass.).
 
Rylie Harlow led the Falcons with 13 points, with Jadelen Harold adding 11 and Olivia Almeida 10.
 
Westfield is back in action tomorrow evening with a non-conference game at SUNY-Cobleskill, a late addition to the schedule to replace games lost to covid protocols this season.  The game tips off at 7:00 p.m., please note no spectators are permitted, but the game will be livestreamed at WestfieldStateOwls.com.
