WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior pitcher Stephanie Scoville (Northfield, Mass.) received conference honors this past week, securing the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week after playing a pivotal role for the Owls in locking up the MASCAC regular season title this past weekend.

Scoville covered ten innings, recording a win and a save in two appearances while allowing nine hits, two earned runs and striking out 11. She dominated in the circle in the Owls final regular season game, tossing a complete game while giving up just two runs while fanning nine Bridgewater hitters to claim the conference regular season title with a 4-2 win. Scoville finished the game by striking out two of the final three outs in the seventh, picking up her 11th win of the season.

She also registered a three-inning save as part of a 4-1 victory over Wesleyan on Tuesday.

On the year, Scoville delivered as both a starter and a reliever after collecting an 11-3 overall record with seven saves in 29 appearances. She compiled a 2.49 earned run average across a team-high 106.2 innings. Her seven saves led the conference by a wide margin as no other player posted more than one save.

Westfield State positioned themselves as the number one overall seed in the MASCAC Tournament as the Owls will begin the double elimination portion of the bracket at home on Friday at 3:00 P.M. against the lowest remaining seed with first round games being played on Thursday. Westfield will host the remainder of the tournament beginning on Friday with all neutral and Owls games played on Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting) from Westfield, Mass.
