Ryan Koczela tied for second place individually, as Westfield State's men's golf team took seventh place at the spring season-opening Rhode Island College Invitational Tournament on Saturday at the Valley Country Club in Warwick, R.I.
The meet was shortened to a one-day, 18-hole tournament when inclement weather forced cancellation on Friday.
Koczela shot a 2-over par 74 on the 6,458 yard par 72 layout.
Babson's Chris Bonhorst earned medalist honors with a round of 73. Koczela finished tied with Salem State's Ryan Swart just one stroke back.
Garret Desmond was second among the Owls with an 80 to tie for 26th.
