WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State junior Garrett Desmond shot a 4-over par 75 to share medalist honors at the Westfield State Spring Invitational men's golf tournament at Tekoa Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Desmond shared tourney honors with Western New England's Ryan Zogby, who also shot 75. Desmond carded 11 pars in his round and birdied the 491-yard, par-5 14th hole on a sunny but blustery day on Tekoa's 6,438 yard, par 71 layout.

Western New England and Westfield State both shot team scores of 312, but WNE was awarded the team title on the tie breaker of the fifth man's score, where WNE's Mike Metcalf edged the Owls' Cam Stanton by two strokes.

Owls senior Mike Sarkis, the 2017 MASCAC champion, wrapped up his collegiate career with 78.

The Owls' spring season is now complete.
