WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior forward Brendon Hamilton (Worcester, Mass.) continued to secure end-of-season accolades for the 2024 campaign as he was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region Third Team as voted on by Sports Information Directors across the region.

Hamilton, who was also named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year, and earned a spot on the MASCAC All-Conference First Team this past season, averaged a double-double on the season at 12.9 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.

He led the MASCAC in total rebounds (334) and in both offensive (96) and defensive (238) rebounding categories. At the conclusion of the Owls season, Hamilton was tied for second in all of Division III with 81 total blocks and averaged a career-high 3.0 blocks per game.

Hamilton sits in elite company on several career lists, scoring over 1,000 points and collecting over 1,000 rebounds to join Westfield State University and MASCAC Hall-of-Famer Russell Thompson '87 as the only two players to accomplish such stats in program history.

The four-time MASCAC All-Conference forward tied Matt Devine '13 for most games played at 108 while finishing second all-time in career rebounds (1,159), blocks (215), and blocks per game (1.99). On the offensive side of the ball, Hamilton is seventh in program history in field goals made (524), eighth in field goal percentage (52.2%) and 11th all-time in points (1,309).

Just recently, Hamilton was named a candidate for the 2024 "Dark Horse Dunker" Competition with the winner earning a spot to compete in the State Farm College Slam Dunk Championship held in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship game in Phoenix, Arizona. 16 players from Division II and III were up for nomination.

The Owls finished the season with an overall record of 19-8, securing the third overall seed in the MASCAC Tournament with a record of 9-3 in league play. Westfield defeated Fitchburg in the opening round of the tournament, 77-70 before falling in the MASCAC Semifinals at Bridgewater State, 83-74.
