WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield State duo of Brendon Hamilton (Worcester, Mass.) and Juju Omot (Springfield, Mass.) earned conference honors this past week with Hamilton securing the MASCAC Player of the Week while Omot notched his fourth-straight MASCAC Rookie of the Week.

Hamilton averaged 15 points, 15.5 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks while shooting 50% from the field in a 2-0 week for the Owls, extending his streak of consecutive double-doubles to seven games. He led the Owls with 15 points in a 70-66 win over Bridgewater State, then followed by posting 15 points, 15 rebounds, and a career-high eight blocks as part of an 86-85 comeback victory over Salem State.

On the season, Hamilton has been a consistent presence on both sides of the floor as he is second on the Owls in points (12.7) and leads the MASCAC in rebounds per game (12.2) and blocks (3.2). In conference play, Hamilton has increased those numbers, putting up 14.2 points and 14.1 rebounds in 12 MASCAC games.

Omot averaged 23.5 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Owls this past week. He powered the Owls to a second-half comeback over Salem, pouring in 18 of his career-high 33 points, including the go-ahead three-point play with five seconds left to seal the victory. He also added 14 points in the win over Bridgewater, notching double figure scoring for the seventh straight game to close the regular season.

For the year, Omot has been a reliable top scoring option as he leads the Owls in points per game at 16.6, which is top five in the MASCAC. Similar to Hamilton, Omot's play within the conference has stepped up as he is scoring over 20 points per game against league foes.

Hamilton and Omot lead Westfield into the MASCAC Tournament where the Owls earned the third overall seed, the same position the team held last season in their run to the league title game. The Owls open tournament play by hosting sixth-seeded Fitchburg State on Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. from the Woodward Center.
