WESTFIELD, Mass. Westfield State freshman forward Brendon Hamilton (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Tech) trailered home the MASCAC men's basketball rookie of the week award, as sponsored by Geico, for a third straight week.

 

Hamilton averaged 11.5 points, nine rebounds, 5.5 blocks and a steal while shooting 75% (9-12) from the field in a 1-1 week for the Owls that ended on February 2.

 

He finished with a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds with five blocks in Westfield's 82-81 overtime setback to MCLA. Had four points, six blocks and four rebounds in just 16 minutes of play in the 86-73 win over Framingham State.

 

Westfield is 13-7 overall and 5-2 in the MASCAC.  Hamilton and the Owls will be back in action at the Woodward Center on Wednesday evening with a key conference game against Worcester State.  The Lancers (9-10, 5-1 MASCAC) hold a 1/2 game lead over the Owls for second place in the conference standings.
