WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State University rookie linebacker Dylan Zuerblis (Wethersfield, Conn.) earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for his defensive performance in the Owls 50-0 win over Fitchburg State on Saturday, from Alumni Field in Westfield, Massachusetts.

Zuerblis earned MASCAC honors for tallying five solo tackles and recording a solo sack for a loss of eight yards. Zuerblis also contributed half a sack which led to a safety for Westfield.

In 10 games played this year, Zuerblis has been active behind the line of scrimmage, recording the second most sacks on the team with four, along with two forced fumbles, and 19 total tackles this season.

Zuerblis and the Westfield State University football team finished their season with back-to-back wins against Worcester State (28-18) and Fitchburg State (50-0). The Owls finished their season 2-8 overall and 2-6 in conference play.
