WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State Athletics placed over 200 student-athletes on the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Fall/Winter 2023 All-Academic Team for the fall semester as announced by conference Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Westfield State University accounted for 16% of the total number of athletes on the MASCAC All-Academic Team, tying Bridgewater State for the largest representation of student-athletes on the All-Academic Team.

Of the total number of Owls student-athletes on the list, 49 athletes from the MASCAC championship-winning men's cross country, women's cross country and women's soccer teams were recognized, highlighting the balance between academic and athletic achievement for Owls Athletics.

"It is my honor as Commissioner to congratulate the 2023 MASCAC Fall/Winter All-Academic Team," Commissioner Baumann said. "We saw a significant increase in those recognized from last year's team which shows the commitment to excellence that our student-athletes in the conference strive to achieve.  I am so proud of their hard work on the fields, courts and classrooms of our conference."

A total of 1,390 student-athletes were honored as part of the All-Academic team for the fall semester. Student-athletes who compete in championship varsity sports offered by each of the MASCAC institutions during the course of the Fall and Winter 2023 athletic season and have achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester-based grade point average during the semester are eligible for selection to the Fall/Winter All-Academic.
