Tom Brincklow (’92) was a high-scoring forward who ranks as one of the most consistent and dependable players in the history of Westfield men’s basketball.

Brincklow is seventh on the all-time scoring list with 1,364 points and holds the school record for starting 92 consecutive games. The Lexington, Mass., native is listed prominently in the Owl record books in the following categories: most games played (2nd, 100), field goals made (5th, 596), field goal attempts (5th, 1,126), and field goal shooting percentage (6th, .529).

The hustling 6-2 forward with his signature baby hook shot made an immediate impact in conference play, earning ECAC rookie of the week honors by pouring in a career-high 30 points vs. Salem State during his freshman season.

Brincklow - who scored his 1,000th career point during his junior year - was an all-conference selection in 1991 and a team captain in 1991 and 1992.

He helped lead Westfield to conference runner-up regular season finishes behind nationally ranked Salem State in his junior and senior years. In 1991 Westfield also advanced to the conference postseason tournament championship game and in 1992 the Owls qualified for the ECAC Tournament.

Since graduating from Westfield in 1992, Brincklow has been an adaptive physical education teacher for the LABBB special education program at Lexington High School. He served as the assistant varsity boys’ basketball at Lexington High School for the past 18 years under the guidance of legendary Lexington coach Bob Farias, a 1968 Westfield State graduate and 1996 Hall of Fame inductee.

He and his wife, Kim (Deschenes), also a Westfield graduate and former Owl women’s soccer player, reside in Norwood with their three daughters: Caitlin (12), Michelle (10), and Taylor (8).
