Lindsay (Skaret) Gundersen’s career as a volleyball player landed her in elite company as she is just the second women’s volleyball player in Westfield State history to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

In her senior season of 2006, the Owls won the MASCAC regular season title before finishing as the MASCAC tournament runner-ups.

As a senior, Gundersen ranked in the top 20 in the nation in hitting percentage.

She was named to first team All-MASCAC three times and was also named the team MVP from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, she ranked 14th in the nation in hitting percentage (.379) while also setting the school record for kills (32) in a game against Lasell.  

At the time of her graduation, she held 16 school records, and was the first player in school history to record 1,000 kills.

Gundersen's .322 career hitting percentage is the highest in school history as are her 280 career blocks. She is second in school history in kills (1,112) and ranks fifth in career games played at 345. She also recorded 438 kills in 2006, which is a single-season record along with her 4.212 kills per game.

She graduated from Westfield State with a degree in Business Management.

Gundersen attended The Gilbert School prior to becoming an Owl. After graduating from WSU, she served as the head volleyball coach at Westfield High School from 2007-11 and at Manchester (Conn.) High School from 2012-16.  She continues to play competitive volleyball in a variety of leagues and AVP America Tournaments.

Currently and office manager with Granby, Dental, Gundersen is active in volunteer work with her church.

A resident of East Hartland, Conn. Lindsay is married to Thomas Gundersen. The couple are the proud parents of a new baby daughter, Dahlia.
