Cabral was the Massachusetts State Conference co-Player of the Year in field hockey in leading Westfield State to a share of the 1991 league title. She was a three-time all-conference first-team selection and a two-time participant in the prestigious U.S. Field Hockey Association Festival. Cabral led her team, which consisted mostly of Division I players, in scoring during the eight-game 1991 festival. She still holds the school career records for most goals (43) and points (99).

In softball, the Cape Cod native was a three-time all-conference and a two-time All New England second baseman. She was named to the NCAA Division III Northeast Region first team in 1991 when she batted .426. Cabral finished her collegiate career with a .331 batting average and holds New England records for sacrifice hits in a season (18) and career (49).

Cabral was named the conference player of the week an astounding 17 times during her four-year, two-sport collegiate career. She was selected the Westfield State Female Athlete of the Year in 1992.

Cabral also excelled academically as she received the prestigious Howard C. Smith Award as the Massachusetts State College Athletics Conference’s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 1992.

Cabral was a three-sport standout in field hockey, softball and basketball at Gateway Regional High School in nearby Huntingdon. She currently teaches third grade in the Gateway district at the Chester Elementary School.

Cabral is now in her eighth season as the Westfield State field hockey head coach. The Owls have won or shared conference championships in five of her first seven seasons, and she was selected the conference coach of the year in 1999, 2000, 2003, and 2005.
