A three-time All-Conference selection, Andrew Lewis helped the Westfield State men’s soccer team to regain regional and national recognition in his four years as a starter for the Owls.

Arriving at Westfield for the 1997 season, Lewis produced his most prodigious scoring totals as a freshman, netting 12 goals and adding seven assists for 31 points to help the Owls win the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference title and post a 13-4-1 record while earning an ECAC Tournament bid.

Lewis added second team-All Conference honors in 1999, and again as a senior in 2000.

During the 2000 season, Lewis’ Owls, under head coach Paul Whalley, posted 10 consecutive wins in winning the inaugural MASCAC Tournament, and the program advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 16 years.  Westfield defeated Roger Williams, 3-2 in the opening round of the NCAAs, with Lewis setting the tone for the match early with two goals in the fourth and 21st minute that staked Westfield to a 2-0 lead as the Owls advanced to the final four of the New England regional. Westfield finished the year with a 15-5 overall record.

Lewis graduated from Westfield State College in 2001, ranking 11th all-time in points, in addition to ranking 12th in goals and 14th in assists.  At the time of induction he still ranks second in goals among all players since 1990. Throughout his career at Westfield State, Lewis totaled 93 points scoring 35 goals and 23 assists. He was the team’s second-leading scorer from ‘97-’99 and the third-leading scorer in the 2000 season.  He tallied eight goals and three assists in both 1998 and 1999, and totaled seven goals and 10 assists in 2000.

Over his four year career, Westfield State posted four consecutive winning seasons with a cumulative record 46-23-2.

The Owls finished the 2000 regular season ranked 7th in New England in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, the second time in four years the Owls finished the season ranked within the top ten in New England.   Lewis formed a dynamic duo up front for the Owls with fellow Hall of Famer and 2001 graduate Karl Labadorf, with their unselfish play leading to impressive scoring totals for both and success for the team.

A high school standout from Danvers, Mass., Lewis was a two-time Northeast Conference All-Star, was named the MVP of the 1996 Agganis All Star game, and was the 1997 Eastern Mass All Star MVP while helping lead his team to conference title in 1994 and 1996.

A business major at Westfield State, Lewis currently resides in Kingston, N.H. with wife Pam and son Caleb where he serves as a Systems Engineer for the Planet Fitness corporation.
