Bio
Drew Soltysiak was one of the top big-meet performers in the history of Westfield State Track and Field, culminating his four-year career as a two-time All-American in the javelin throw.
Soltysiak, who majored in movement science at Westfield State, finished third in the 2008 NCAA Division III national championships with a throw of 63.06 meters (206’-11’) after finishing seventh in the nation at the 2007 championships.
He earned All-New England honors six times and All-ECAC status three times. In 2008 he placed first in both the New England Division III and ECAC championships, and he was the New England Alliance and MASCAC champion during his junior and senior seasons.
After his senior year at Westfield State, Soltysiak was selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletics Conference’s Howard C. Smith Male co-Scholar-Athlete of the year, as the senior student-athletes who have excelled both academically and athletically, maintaining a 3.2 or higher GPA.
After graduating Westfield, he placed 3rd at the Penn Relays Olympic Development javelin throw in 2009, and threw a personal-best 65.71 meters at Icahn Stadium in New York City. He resumed competing at the Masters Level in recent years, where he earned a silver medal (Masters World Champion Runner-Up, 40+ age category) at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Gainesville, Florida in 2025 and is currently training to compete at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea in 2026.
Soltysiak was a three-sport captain in high school, competing in track and field, wrestling and cross country at Westfield High, where he was the Western Mass Champion in the javelin throw.
Drew resides in his hometown of Westfield, Mass. And currently serves as a senior manager at Collins Aerospace in Windsor Locks, Conn.
