156 Westfield State student-athletes were named to the 2024 MASCAC Winter/Spring All-Academic Team as released earlier today by conference Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Westfield wins its 18th Smith Cup overall, and it's eighth in the last nine years.

Senior women’s golfer Kaitlyn Egan (Sutton, Mass./Grafton HS) and senior men’s soccer goalkeeper Collin O’Brien (Windsor Locks, Conn./Windsor Locks HS) were recently named as the Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year by the Westfield State University athletic department.

Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes undergraduate college student-athletes who participate in a sport at the varsity intercollegiate level, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full time semester, and earn a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade point average.

Owls' athletics recognized its major award winners, including the Senior Scholar Athlete Awards, the Peter Mazza Athletic Award, the Senior Male and Female Athletes of the Year, and the John Kurty Award, the department's highest award for four-year contributions to athletics, and inducted 33 new members of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national honor society for college athletes.

The Westfield State women’s golf team finished up their second and final day at the 2024 Northeast Women’s Golf Conference Championship meet from The Edison Club in Rexford, N.Y. this weekend.

Westfield State University’s Kerry Greenough (Charlton, Mass./Shepherd Hill) placed third individually to help lead the Owls to a second place finish at the Nichols College Invitational at Dudley Hill Golf Course in Dudley, Mass. on Tuesday afternoon.

At the conclusion of the winter sports season, Westfield State University Athletics continues to hold the top spot in the 2023-24 Howard C. Smith Cup standings as the best athletic program in the MASCAC.
