WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield State women's golf team began the 2023 fall schedule by hosting the Westfield State Invitational from Shaker Farms Country Club in Westfield, Mass. on Sunday afternoon.
Katie Egan (Sutton, Mass.) led the Owls on the day, posting a 99 on the afternoon to place third individually. Kerry Greenough (Charlton, Mass.) was the next lowest scorer for Westfield, entering the clubhouse with a 106.
The Owls finished in third of three teams in the meet, shooting a combined team score of 447. Keene State finished the match first as a team (401) followed by Nichols College (425).
Keene State's Madi Mousley (East Thetford, Vt.) shot the low-round of 85 on the day and finished strong with a birdie on the 18th hole. Maya Orbegozo carded the top score for Nichols, finishing second individually with a 94.
Westfield State will return to Shaker Farms Country Club for their next match as part of the Northeast Women's Golf Fall Classic which will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 11:00 A.M.
