WXC Takes 15th Place at Mass-Dartmouth Invitational

The Westfield State women's cross country team placed 15th among 45 scoring teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday in North Dartmouth, Mass.

Owls freshman Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) turned in the top effort in 22nd place, in 19:09.52 across the women's 5-kilometer course. 

Junior Andrea Noland (Silver Lake/Kingston, Mass.) finished 46th in 19:45.68  

Brandeis College's Emily Bryson was the individual winner from the field of 318 runners in 17:54.59.  The Judges were the team winner as well with a score of 56.   Westfield finished with 480 points.

The Owls' JV unit finished ninth among 15 scoring teams, led by freshman Mary Philpott (Westfield, Mass.) who placed 44th among 187 athletes in 21:35.51

Westfield will next compete at the Purple Valley Classic on the Mount Greylock course next Saturday.
