Owls' Volleyball Draws Clarkson in NCAA Tournament

WESTFIELD, Mass. –   Westfield State University's women's volleyball team will play Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., in the opening round of the NCAA Division III women's volleyball tournament, it was announced on Monday in an NCAA.com selection show.

Westfield State received the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference's automatic bid after winning the league's post-season tournament on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Framingham.

The Owls have a 14-16 overall record, but were a perfect 9-0 vs. MASCAC foes in 2019.

Clarkson will host the eight team regional site.  The Golden Knights finished 25-5 and won the Liberty League title.

Westfield is making its fifth appearance in the NCAA tournament since 2009, but its' first since 2013.

The two schools have tournament history, as Westfield traveled to the Clarkson regional and played the Knights in 2013, with Clarkson taking a 3-0 decision that year.
