Popp Improves Seed Time for NCAA's at MIT Last Chance Qualifier

Westfield State senior hurdler Lexi Popp lowered her seed time for the NCAA Championships, winning the 400 meter hurdles at the MIT Last Chance meet on Thursday.

Popp ran 1:01.75, her best of the season and is now 10th on the NCAA Division III Championship qualifying list.

Fellow owls senior Kerri Long placed third in the 400 hurdles at MIT with a time of 1:03.30, which puts her 31st on the qualifying list, but likely just outside the entries for the NCAA meet.

Westfield junior Lauren Gilderdale placed seventh in the hammer with a throw of 45.23 meters, but was unable to improve her standing on the qualifying list, where she sits in 29th place.

The NCAA qualifying list will be released on NCAA.com on Saturday morning, May 18.
