WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Senior captains Kelsey Johnstone (Southwick), Carly Thibodeau (Mendon, Mass.), and Jenna Albrecht (Methuen, Mass.) all won events as Westfield State University celebrated a 134-100 Senior Day victory against Western Connecticut on Saturday afternoon at Ely Pool.
"All three of these ladies have played a big role in the program's success over the last four years," said Westfield State Head Coach Dave Laing.
The trio certainly played a big role in today's victory, each winning at least one event.
Johnstone won two events in the 200-yard freestyle and 50-yard breast stroke while also leading the 200-yard medley relay team to a victory in the opening event of the afternoon.
Thibodeau was also a part of that winning relay team in addition taking first in the 100-yard butterfly.
Albrecht conquered the 1000-yard freestyle, beating out her opponents by over ten seconds.
Junior Kait Kelly (Hampden, Mass.) also had a successful afternoon, winning two events in the 50-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle, as well as swimming in the winning 200-yard medley relay group.
The Owls hit the road one more time as they visit Rhode Island College next Sunday before heading to the Little East Championships the following week.
