WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State swim and dive coach Dave Laing was named the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association's (NEISDA) women's dive coach of the year, while several of his team members acheived All-New England honors following the NEISDA championships on February 21st-24th at M.I.T.

Laing coached senior Monique Groux (Agawam, Mass.) to a perfect meet, as she placed first overall in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, earning her the Senior High Point Diver and Diver of the Meet awards.

Westfield State was well represented at the championship meet with four athletes being named to the 2019 NEISDA All-New England team, which requires a top eight individual finish or a top four relay finish. Shannon Fitzsimmons (Andover, Mass), Kelly Johnstone (Southwick, Mass), and Kait Kelly (Hampden, Mass) and Groux were all named to the All-New England team.
