Owls Back in NCAA Tournament, Draw William Smith in Opener

WESTFIELD, Mass.  –   Westfield State University will travel to face William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y., in the opening round of the NCAA Division III women's soccer tournament next Saturday, November 10.

Westfield State will be making its seventh appearance overall and second straight in the NCAA Division III women's soccer tournament.

Westfield has a 10-6-3 overall record.  The Owls earned the MASCAC's automatic bid by virtue of winning the conference tournament.  Westfield posted a 3-0 win over Salem State in the title game on Sunday.

The Herons were ranked 12th in the nation in the most recent D3soccer.com national poll.

William Smith enters the tournament 14-3 overall, and hosts a four team pod which includes Tufts (10-5-2) and Penn State-Behrend (13-6) in the other opening round game.
