SALEM, Mass. - The Salem State Vikings and the Westfield State Owls match ended as a draw 0-0 on senior night.

Salem State is now 5-10-1 and 3-3-1 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) on the season and the Owls are 7-6-3 and 4-1-2 in the conference.

In the first half, the game was even as neither team had many much chances to score. Juliana Templeman (East Longmeadow, Mass.) missed a shot wide right that could have put the Owls on the board. In the 35th minute, Westfield State had a free kick opportunity and Hallee Tripp (Somerset, Mass.) headed the ball but was recovered by Salem goalkeeper Amanda Backe (Danvers, Mass.). The Vikings and the Owls ended the half with two shots each.

In the second half, Kelly made a key defensive save to deflect Ashley Levya's (Walpole, Mass.) shot to keep Westfield State from taking the lead.

Salem's Brown (Milford, Mass.) took a free kick and her shot was too high as her shot hit the crossbar.

In extra time, Salem State took two corners and Westfield took three corners. Neither team could take advantage of the corners which led the game to a draw.

Westfield State finished the match with seven shots and the Vikings attempted eight shots.

Natalia Falcone (Sutton, Mass.) saved five shots and Backe saved five shots as well.
