WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State senior infielder Kayla Soucie (North Easton, Mass.) was named this past week's MASCAC softball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference earlier this afternoon.

Soucie batted .429 (6-14) with a double, a home run, seven runs scored and five RBI in a 4-2 week for the Owls.

Soucie was 3-for-4 with a three-run home run in the sixth inning of a comeback win over Fitchburg State and then went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and a walk in the game two 5-4 win over the Falcons. Soucie also went 2-for-6 with three runs scored and a RBI in the doubleheader sweep of Massachusetts Maritime.

The Owls' softball team gets back to work on Wednesday as they travel to WPI to make up the rescheduled games from last month.
