Game 1

Arcadia (Pa.) University scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and got a strong pitching performance from Kylee Schwind and Brenna Dolan to hold off Westfield State, 4-0 at the Sleepy Hollow complex on Friday morning.

Alex Distefano and Jackie Billotti each singled and scored in the first for Arcadia (5-4).  Billotti added another base hit in the third and came around to score on Bekah Good's base hit.

For Westfield, the Owls had five hits on the day, but could never string together multiple hits in any inning.  Karly Mastello led off the sixth with a double looped down the left field line, but was stranded at second.

Emily Arredondo (2-2) takes the loss for the Owls.  She scattered 11 hits and allowed just two earned runs with one strikeout.

Kylee Schwind (3-2) earned the win for the Knights, allowing three hits in four innings and striking out three.

Westfield is now 3-6 on the Florida trip.  The Owls will play the College of Mount St. Vincent at 2:30 today to close their 10 game road trip.
