WESTFIELD, MA – Westfield State freshman forward Brendan Hamilton (Worcester, Mass.) has been named this past week's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, presented by GEICO.

Hamilton averaged a near double-double with 9.7 points, 10 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, and 2.3 assists per game in the Owls' 2-1 week.

Hamilton started with six points, eight rebounds, and two blocks in an 84-81 loss at Worcester State.

Hamilton bounced back with 12 rebounds, six blocks, five assists and four points in an 88-71 win over Fitchburg State.

Hamilton then ended the week with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds in the Owls' 96-82 victory at Bridgewater State.

On the season, Hamilton averages 5.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 60 percent from the field.

The Owls are 11-6 and sit in third place in the conference standings with a conference record of 3-1.

Next up for the Owls is a huge MASCAC Championship rematch with defending champion Salem State on Saturday, January 25 at 2:00 P.M.
