WESTFIELD, Mass.  – Westfield State University freshman Allie Giguere (Bishop Fenwick HS/ Lynn, Mass.) was chosen as the Little East Conference field hockey rookie of the week on Monday, September 24.

Giguere scored the game winning goal and added a pair of assists as the Owls topped UMass-Dartmouth, 4-3 on the road on Saturday.

Giguere is currently second on the team in scoring with 8 points on three goals and two assists for the season.

She has helped the Owls to a 2-2 record in the Little East, and a 3-6 mark overall.  The Owls will be back in action on Tuesday night, playing host to Eastern Connecticut State University in a Little East Conference game at Alumni Field in Westfield.
