The 2019 MASCAC baseball tournament has been pushed up to begin on Wednesday, May 7, with two game at Bud and Jim Hagan Field, the home of the top-seeded Westfield State Owls.

Citing concerns about weather later in the week, the ganme committee opted to start the tournament a day early, with heavy rain in the forecast on Friday, to ensure the best opportunity for good playing conditions for the particpating teams while keeping the tournament on schedule.   The winner of the tournament receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championship tournament.

The games committee will be keeping an eye on the weather situation throughout the week.  If necessary, any schedule changes will be posted here at WestfieldStateOwls.com

Wednesday's schedule has #4 Salem State meeting #5 Bridgewater State at 11:00 a.m. on Hagan Field in Westfield.  The loser of that game is eliminated from the tournament, and the winner will advance to face #1 Westfield State at 3:00 p.m., which begins the double-elimination portion of the tournament.

Regardless of the result of that game, the Owls will host another tournament game (either in the winner's bracket, or the elimination bracket) on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Hagan Field.

The tournament bracket is available here.
