The Jerry Gravel Track surrounds Alumni Field.   The track was named for the Owls legendary coach, Jerry Gravel, who founded the Westfield State track and field program and coached through 1999.   A member of the Westfield State Athletic Hall of Fame

The 400-meter was resurfaced in the summer of 2018, providing the perfect surface for the Owls to train and compete.  the track and field facility includes multiple runways for the long and triple jump, as well as apron areas for high jump and pole vault.  The throwing circles were refurbished in 2018 as well, with additional practice areas for footwork added.  The javelin runway, hammer and discus cages are located adjacent to the track, with the shot put circle in the northwest corner of the stadium.

The track has seating for up to 4,000 spectators or competitors, a modern press box and is fully wired for meet timing.  Westfield State annually hosts its Gravel Invitational meet, and has hosted numerous MASCAC, New England Alliance, and ECAC Championship meets at the facility.
