Megan (Wolski) Loftus ‘08 is one of the most prolific scorers in Westfield State field hockey history.

She holds the Westfield State records for points in a career with 139 points on 60 goals and 19 assists.

Her 60 career goals are also a school record, and Loftus’ 12 assists in 2005 still stands as the Owls school record.

Her 50 points and 19 goals in 2005 are the second-best season totals in school history (behind only fellow Hall of Famer Deb O’Reilly Kline).  In total, Loftus has three of the top six goal-scoring seasons in program history.

As a junior, Loftus broke the Owls all-time scoring record, established by her coach, WSU hall of famer Heather Cabral in 1992.

Loftus was honored three times as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Year, and was a three time ll-conference selection in the 12-team Little East Conference, where she also named as the co-Player of the Year as a senior.

She was twice named as a New England West Region All Star, and was chosen to play in the prestigious NFHCA Senior All Star game at the final four after her senior year.

As a senior she was selected as the Owls NCAA Woman of the Year honoree.

The Owls won at least 10 games in each of Loftus’ seasons as an Owl.   As a sophomore, she helped the Owls to a 10-9 overall record, a MASCAC Co-Championship, and the team advanced all the way to the Little East Conference championship game.

In her senior year, she led the Owls to a school-record tying 12 wins, and a second-place finish in the ECAC New England Tournament.

After graduating from Westfield with a degree in communication, she served several years as an assistant coach at her high school alma mater, Plymouth South.

As a player at Plymouth South High School, she earned both the Outstanding Player and Sportsmanship awards during her career.

She currently works as a medical assistant at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Megan is married to a fellow Westfield State alumnus, Kevin Loftus, and the couple recently welcomed their first child, a daughter, Shea.
