SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Westfield State combination of Amy O'Sullivan and Grace Phair (Stockbridge, Mass.) led the Owls to a fifth place finish at the Western New England University Invitational this afternoon.
O'Sullivan and Phair finished back to back, in fourth and fifth place overall. O'Sullivan finished the 6k course in a time of 22:16, while Phair finished quite literally just a fraction of a second behind to take fifth.
Abigail Wager (Middleboro, Mass.) and Kayla Whitcomb (Hubbardston, Mass.) next crossed the line for the Owls, in 36th and 41st.
Next up for the Owl men's and women's cross country teams is the much-anticipated MASCAC Championships. The meet will take place on Saturday, November 2nd at MooreState Park in Paxton, Mass.
