NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Westfield State women's cross country team finished seventh out of 37 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The women's field featured 263 runners from various schools in the area, in which two Owls finished in the top ten.
Sophomore Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) finished third overall, while freshman Grace Phair (Stockbridge, Mass.) ran to an eighth place finish. Senior Andrea Noland (Kingston, Mass.) placed in the top 50, finishing the 5k course in 19:38.98, good for 40th.
The Owls were one point away from a sixth place finish, just getting edged out by Assumption College (246).
Junior Erin Giugno (Marlborough, Mass.) led Westfield in the JV race, finishing in 18th with a time of 20:53.25
