Amy O'Sullivan finished fifth individually to earn Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference rookie of the year honors as she led the Westfield State women's cross country team to a second-place team finish at the 2018 conference championship meet at Mount Greylock in Williamstown, Mass.

O'Sullivan traversed the 5-kilometer course in 20:47.  She was followed in by Andrea Noland in eighth place (21:19) and Kerry O'Neil in ninth place in 21:22.  Al three Owl runners earn all-conference honors by finishing in the top 10 in the race.

The race was contested on a cold and muddy day as a rainy Nor'Easter battered New England with heavy rains and wind gusts throughout the afternoon.

Worcester State's Elisabeth Olson won the race in 20:03 with teammate Mia Rogers in third place, which fueled the Lancers 10 point win, 38-48 over the Owls in the team standings.  Bridgewater was a distant third with 89 points.

Westfield's Lauren Fitzgerald finished 12th, Julie Carroll 14th,  Jackie Caffarelli 15th,  Lauren Izabel 19th and Rachel Farley was 20th  in the 89 athlete race.
