WESTFIELD, Mass. – Freshmen Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) and Collin Rice (Mansfield, Mass.) grabbed the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference rookie of the week honors on Monday.
The Owls swept the two awards for the week ending October 14th. It is the second time the duo took both honors this season. For O'Sullivan, it is the fifth time she has been honored as rookie of the week as she finished in 29th place among 318 runners at the Gettysburg Invitational, covering the 6k course in a time of 24:08.
On the men's side, Rice Finished 88th at the Gettysburg Invitational meet, which featured 30 teams from all three divisions, covering the 8k course with a time of 28:19.
Westfield's cross country teams will be back in action for the MASCAC championships on Saturday, October 27th at Mount Greylock in Williamstown, Mass. starting at 11:00 a.m.
