WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield State women's volleyball team wrapped up regular season action in a non-conference match against Brandeis University, falling in straight sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-17) on the road from Red Auerbach Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The game had no effect on the conference standings as the Owls earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outright regular season title and number one overall seed in the league tournament after their victory over Fitchburg State on Friday night.

Senior Bridgette McAndrews (Longmeadow, Mass.) and first-year Lauren Carnes (Westfield, Mass.) each posted a team-high seven kills.

Senior Julia Dangel-Garcia (Ashland, Mass.) and sophomore Morgan Dority (Walpole, Mass.) continued to split setting duties, both combining for 17 of the team's 20 assists. Michaela O'Connor (Shrewsbury, Mass.) led a balanced defensive attack for the Owls with five digs.

Anna Ertischek (Montgomery, Texas) led all players with 16 kills for the Judges, which as a team racked up 53 kills across the three sets. Julia Laing (Sugar Land, Texas) piled up 37 helpers with Ella Pereira (Redondo Beach, Calif.) leading Brandeis with 11 digs.

Westfield State (10-18, 7-0 MASCAC) will host a MASCAC Semifinal game on Thursday night from the Woodward Center in Westfield, Mass. with an opponent and time to be announced.
