WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State volleyball's Lauren Carnes (Westfield, Mass.) turned in another strong performance this past week, earning the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week award.

Carnes was a major factor in nabbing two conference wins this past week, totaling 18 kills, seven digs, and four blocks between both games. Eight of those kills came from the Owls' straight-sets victory over Worcester State along with two digs and two block assists. Carnes then had 10 kills, five assists, and two block assists in the five-set win against Bridgewater State, which pushed the Owls to a 5-0 record in the MASCAC.

Carnes is third on the team with 112 kills and has also posted 49 digs in her first season with the team.

The Owls (7-15, 5-0 MASCAC) look to remain unbeaten in the MASCAC as they travel to Mass. Maritime on Thursday, October 26 for a 7:00 P.M. start time.
