Owls Fall at Lasell, 3-1

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield State women's volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Lasell University (25-27, 25-18, 25-16, 25-22) in a non-conference matchup on the road on Saturday afternoon.

The Lasers have now won 16 straight matches, improving to 18-1 on the season. The Owls fall to 4-15 overall.

Bridgette McAndrews (Longmeadow, Mass.) led the Owls with ten kills, followed by Kylie Joyce (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Sarah Bingham (Reno, Nev.) with seven kills apiece.

Julia Dangel-Garcia (Ashland, Mass.) supplied 16 assists and 12 digs. Michaela O'Connor (Shrewsbury, Mass.) contributed a team-high 14 digs for Westfield.

For Lasell, McKenna McCool (Loomis, Calif.) posted a game-high 12 kills along with six service aces. Morgan Bogli (Vernon, Conn.) and Julia Medini (Roxbury, N.J.) each recorded nine kills. Sydney Katz (Ridgefield, Conn.) registered 24 of the Lasers 39 assists on the afternoon. Maddie Caro (Chula Vista, Calif.) reached double-figure digs with 14.

As a team, the Lasers piled up nine blocks and 17 aces.

Westfield State will be back in action on Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. as the Owls travel to Worcester State in a MASCAC battle as both teams currently sit at 3-0 in the league standings.
