Keene State Gets Past Owls, 3-1

WESTFIELD, Mass. -  Keene State women's volleyball topped Westfield State by a 3-1 final score in a tightly contested matchup on Tuesday night at the Spaulding Gym in Keene, N.H.

The set scores were 25-23, 25-18, 21-25 and 25-21.

Keene state improves to 3-5 on the season, while the Owls fall to 0-8 while playing a tough non-conference schedule in the early part of the season.

In the first game, Westfield held a 15-13 lead before Keene turned the tide. KSU went on a 7-1 run to grab 20-14 lead and held on for the 25-23 win.

Westfield put away the third set with a kill from Sarah Bingham (Reno, Nev.) to close out a 25-21 win for the Owls.

Bridgette McAndrews (Longmeadow, Mass.) led Westfield with eight kills and 20 digs. Julia Dangel-Garcia (Ashland, Mass.) dished out 20 assists.

Jessica Timothy led the way with 12 kills for Keene, with Gigi Stake adding 10.  Alexis Small served up six aces for KSU as they topped the Owls for the second time this season.

Westfield State has a busy week, with a match at Western New England on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., before coming home to host Lasell on Saturday at noon.
