BUZZARDS BAY -- Shawna Crowley pounded out 12 kills and Brianna Starkey tacked on 11 more as Westfield rolled to a 3-0 volleyball win over Mass Maritime that wrapped up a perfect 7-0 record in conference play as the Owls win the league's regular season title.
Westfield is now 12-16 overall and 7-0 in the MASCAC. The Owls, who had already clinched the top seed in the league tournament, will host a semifinal round playoff game on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodward Center. Westfield will host the winner of Tuesday's opening round game between #4 MCLA and #5 Worcester State.
Today in the 25-8, 25-8, 25-7 win over the Buccaneers, the Owls hit .366 as a team with 39 kills and just five hitting errors. Ally Rega Dished out 35 assists in the win, and Lizzie Taylor and Jess Haradon did the dirty work with 19 and 13 digs, respectively.
