Volleyball Drops Two Games at M.I.T. Tri-Match

Shawna Crowley (Billerica) rapped out 15 kills, and Ally Rega (Chelmsford) set 38 assists, but it wasn't enough as Westfield State dropped a 3-2 women's volleyball decision to Simmons College in a tri match at M.I.T. on Saturday.

Westfield rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force a deciding fifth game, ultimately falling 25-18, 25-14, 14-25, 22-25, 15-10.

The Owls were swept 3-0 by M.I.T. in the first match of th day.  The Engineers prevailed 15-12, 25-17, 25-11.  Crowley's five kills led the Owls, and Lizzie Taylor (Medfield) came up with 12 digs.

Westfield is now 11-15 overall with the pair of non-conference losses.  The Owls will play a non-conference match at Keene State on Wednesday evening, before concluding conference play at Mass Maritime next Saturday.
