Westfield State volleyball dropped a pair of decisions on Saturday at Western New England, as the Owls were edged 3-2 by Colby-Sawyer in the opener, then fell to the hosts by a 3-1 score in the nightcap.
Colby Sawyer topped the Owls 25-21, 24-26, 25-20, 17-25, 15-8 in a hard-fought match.
Senior Natasha Belardo led the Owls with 15 kills, with Brianna Starkey and Ashley Crowley each added 10 kills each. Ally Rega set 41 assists for the Owls, while Lizzie Taylor added 30 digs.
Against Western New England, the Golden Bears held sway by scores of 25-20, 21-25, 25-20 and 20-19.
Senior Cait Medeiros led Westfield with nine kills and had 14 digs. Taylor added 18 digs. Rega finished with 16 assists whith Kayla Robinson adding 10.
