Owls Compete at New England D3 Meet

WESTFIELD, Mass.  –  Westfield State junior Eliza Lee (Walpole, Mass.) placed ninth in the triple jump, highlighting the Owls' competitors at the New England Divison III Track and Field Championships at the Track at New Balance on Sunday.

Lee's best mark was 10.98 meters (36' – 0-1/4") in the triple jump.

The Owls also got solid results from the women's distance medley relay team of Arian Lecours (Haverhill, Mass.), Devin Whalen (Marblehead, Mass.), Brynne Lecours (Haverhill, Mass.) and Shea Hamel (Longmeadow, Mass.) who placed 11th in 13:04.77, and the 4x200 relay unit of Paige Moroney (Sterling, Mass.), Anjalina Lubarsky (Ludlow, Mass.) Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.), and Whalen, which placed12th in a time of 1:49.08

On the men's side of the meet, the Owls top individuals were John Nekitopoulos (West Springfield, Mass.), who placed 14th in the mile in a time  of 4:31.88, and Ali Warsame (Chelsea, Mass.) who placed 16th in the triple jump with a mark of 13.04 meters.

Among the relay team, westfield's 4x800 team of Rowan Gottschall (West Simsbury, Conn.), Colin Mahoney (Plainville, Mass.), Lorcan Bergeron (Medway, Mass.) and Gordon Johnson (Hanson, Mass.) placed 18th in New England with a time of 8:23.33.
