WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield State women's track and field team earned recognition as part of the 2023 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III women's track and field All-Academic Teams list as announced this past week.

In order to receive placement on the All-Academic list, teams must have earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.1 or higher with the Owls boasting a team GPA of 3.59.

The women's track and field team finished second at the MASCAC Championship meet this past season after winning three individual events and one team relay. Molly Kennedy (West Springfield, Mass.) was the top runner in the 1500m with Shea Hamel (Longmeadow, Mass.) tallying first in the 5000m. Brynne LeCours (Haverhill, Mass.) finished first in the 800m and was also part of the team-winning 4x800 relay team along with Tealei Chandonnet (Dracut, Mass.), Ariann LeCours (Haverhill, Mass.) and Alison Downin (Hudson, Mass.).
