Grace Phair and Mackenzie Connor each won their events for westfield State, helping the Owls to a fourth place finish at the Coast Guard Academy Invitational indoor track and field meet in New London, Conn. on Friday evening.

Phair won the 1000 meter run in a time 3:08.99, while Connor topped the pole vault clearing 2.65 meters (8-8.25.

Abigail Wager took second in the mile run and Lina Lark took second in the long jump among the highlights for the Owls.

Coast Guard won the Invitational with 182 points followed by Eastern Connecticut (98.5), Rhode Island College (87), Westfield State (71.5) and UMass Dartmouth (33).
